The Holocaust Resource Center of the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County is honored to bring the Violins of Hope to our community from November 12-18, 2024. These string instruments were owned and played by Jews before and during the Holocaust; and in some cases, they were played in the concentration camps, hidden, or thrown from cattle cars. They have been meticulously restored by Israeli father-and-son violin makers, Amnon z”l and Avshalom Weinstein. Each instrument has a unique emotional history that tells a story of perseverance and hope. CBE’s own Nellie Cole will play one of the violins for us during Kabbalat Shabbat, November 15.
