Kol Nidre Food Drive
Each New Year, we add meaning to our observance with food donations to the Schoke Jewish Family Service (JFS) Kosher Food Pantry. All donations will be sent to JFS for the Kosher Food Pantry which includes the Kosher Food Pantry truck that comes to our building once per month.
The food goes to people in need from Stamford to Bridgeport. (Be sure that one of the Hechsher symbols, shown below, is on the packages.) Please place these non-perishable items in the bin in the Beth El Social Hall prior to Kol Nidre services, Sunday, Sept. 24.
We especially need these frequently requested Kosher items:
• Wacky Mac Mac & Cheese (available from Amazon*) • Canned tuna • Ketchup • Mustard
• Mayonnaise • Salad dressings • Tomato/spaghetti sauce • Jelly • Nuts
• Dried fruit, raisins, etc. • Cereals, oatmeal, granola • Vegetable/Corn oil
HECHSHER SYMBOLS: These are the most common Hechsher symbols. If you’re not sure about an item, ask Rabbi Paskind. NOTE: A simple K is not acceptable.
