August Mitzvah of the Month Success
We’re excited to share news about our successful Mitzvah of the Month! We had broad participation in the Social Action committee’s annual school supplies and backpack drive. This year, the drive benefited Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center. To give the gift of learning, we sent out this request to the entire community:
WHAT WE NEED (grades k-2)
Backpacks, lunchboxes, #2 pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, safety scissors, composition notebooks, pocket folders, small pencil sharpeners, pencil cases, rulers, erasers, small packs of tissues.
WHAT WE NEED (grades 3-5)
Backpacks, lunchboxes, #2 pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, safety scissors, composition notebooks, pocket folders, small pencil sharpeners, pencil cases, rulers, erasers, small packs of tissues, mechanical pencils, pens, highlighters, binders, index cards, wide ruled paper, calculator.
Thanks to your generosity, many supplies were sent to Congregation Beth El. Our wonderful students packed the supplies into backpacks—32 of them(!)—and delivered them to the Center.
