A Warm Welcome from Danielle Ben-David
Shalom, Congregation Beth El!
I’m so excited to say hello as your new synagogue administrator! I officially started on July 28th, and
it’s been wonderful getting to know so many of you already.
For those I haven’t met yet: I’m Danielle Ben-David. I’ve got a background in research, project
management, and entrepreneurship, and some of you might know me as a Nitzan/Kesher/Norwalk
Public School parent, board member, congregant, or CBE event planner.
What brought me here is simple: my love for our Jewish community. I want Beth El to feel like a
second home—warm, welcoming, and supportive.
One teaching I hold close is:
” כּל יִ ְשָׂר ֵאל ֲעֵר ִבים זֶה ָבּזֶה” (Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh – all Israel are responsible for one another).
My first trip to Israel at age 10 gave me a sense of home I hadn’t felt anywhere else. Meeting my
husband there later deepened that feeling of Koleinu—of family and shared responsibility across the
globe. To me, that’s what the High Holidays are all about: coming together, supporting each other,
and celebrating as one family.
A few fun facts about me:
● Favorite Jewish holiday: Passover – love long tables, lots of conversation, lots of laughter.
● Hebrew name: Devorah – after my mom’s favorite Hebrew School teacher (Dawn Schuman).
● Hobbies: Healthy cooking, rowing, hiking, HIIT, family-time.
● Podcast/book: GOOP or Better World.
● Superpower wish: Lightning-fast bill pay!
I’m here for you—questions, ideas, volunteering, or even just a hello or Shalom shalom. You can
reach me at danielle@congbethel.org.
Thanks for welcoming me so warmly. I can’t wait to see you over the High Holidays and get to know
more of you in the year ahead!
L’shalom,
Danielle
