SUMMARY:Violins of Hope
DESCRIPTION:The Holocaust Resource Center of the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County is honored to bring the Violins of Hope to our community from November 12-18\, 2024. These string instruments were owned and played by Jews before and during the Holocaust; and in some cases\, they were played in the concentration camps\, hidden\, or thrown from cattle cars. They have been meticulously restored by Israeli father-and-son violin makers\, Amnon z”l and Avshalom Weinstein. Each instrument has a unique emotional history that tells a story of perseverance and hope. CBE’s own Nellie Cole will play one of the violins for us during Kabbalat Shabbat\, November 15.
